When to Visit

The best time to visit Con Dao is between November and April, when the weather is dry and pleasant. Avoid the rainy season from May to October, as strong winds and heavy rains can limit outdoor activities.

Getting Around

Con Dao is best explored by motorbike, which offers flexibility and the chance to enjoy the island's scenic roads. For shorter trips, bicycles or buggy taxis are also available.

1. Con Son Beach

Located right in front of the main town, this beach is a great starting point. Visit in the late afternoon to see locals and children enjoying the water, creating a lively yet relaxed atmosphere.

2. Đầm Trầu Beach

About 11 km from town, this beach offers pristine sands, turquoise waters, and scenic views. The ride to Đầm Trầu is as beautiful as the destination itself. You’ll also find a few local food stands and hammocks for rent. An added bonus is the chance to watch airplanes land up close—a unique and fun experience.

It used to be great when it open, delicious coconut ice cream. Still a good spot but it used to have a better view and price. Location: Phan Chu Trinh, khu 2 thị trấn, Côn Đảo, Bà Rịa - Vũng Tàu, Vietnam

Where to Stay

Hotel De Condor

This is one of our favorite place to stay on the island. This quiet and affordable hotel offers spacious, clean rooms with charming decor. We used to go here and the neighborhood was still quiet and peaceful. It still is but there is a few more houses around. Hopefully it doesn't loose of its charm.

Expect to pay ~20 USD per night for a double room.

Tip: The hotel rents motorbikes and bycicles, and there is a convenience store right next door.

The Secret Con Dao

For a more upscale experience, this hotel offers well-appointed rooms, excellent service, and a fantastic swimming pool. Its central location makes it convenient for exploring.

Expect to pay ~100 USD per night for a double room.

Tip: Motorbikes are available for rent in front of the hotel. You can walk to the beach and there is one very large swimming pool available at the hotel.
